This position will consist of three 10-month rotations in key areas of our business and will allow for a wide understanding of Trane Technologies’ systems and processes. As a Logistics Engineer you will get the opportunity to partner with leadership and peers to ensure that the logistics operating system meets the needs of the business and its customers. This position will also implement logistics process improvement projects, solutions, and performance metrics with a focus on improving delivery and cost. In this role you will review logistics data to analyze network performance and develop new logistics improvement projects and solutions that will accelerate sustainability goals and / or improve logistics network performance. The Logistics Engineer will work closely with all facets of the logistics department to support strategic business units (SBUs) globally and have exposure to coaching from the most senior leaders across supply chain in Trane Technologies.

Where is the work:  

This position has been designated as a Hybrid work schedule with work performed onsite 3 days each week in Davidson, NC.

What you will do:    

  • Collect and analyze logistics data to measure network performance. Benchmark current inbound & outbound transportation and distribution networks and support business process changes to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of these networks.
  • Leverage network performance analysis to problem solve (design, configure, and implement) business solutions and projects that deliver year-over-year productivity and delivery improvements.
  • Work closely with Materials, Distribution, and other Logistics Leaders to ensure that product flow is continuous.
  • Review and analyze logistics processes to identify waste and develop, support, and or lead process improvement projects in the logistics department.
  • Utilize internal expertise, company initiatives, and SBU customer requirements to develop decision models to determine optimal logistics solutions.
  • Lead and support productivity ideation events and value stream mapping events.
  • Maintain configurations and data integrity in the transportation management system.
  • Partners with carriers, suppliers, and visibility partners to drive compliance and understanding of business processes.
  • Designing dashboards through Tableau to review logistics network and process performance
  • Share best practices across logistics operations on:
  • Process design
  • Logistics Network Performance
  • KPI Reporting
  • Rotate through and show proficiency in, but not limited to, the following categories:
  • Domestic or International Planning
  • Domestic or International Freight Pay
  • Domestic or International Procurement
  • Supply Chain Optimization & Technology
     

What you will bring: 

  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Must have a Bachelors degree or be currently enrolled in a college or university program leading to a bachelor's degree, with an expected graduation date of June 2026
  • Strong project management and communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of logistics concepts, including procurement, transportation management, operations, freight payment, and freight claims. An understanding of Transportation Management Systems is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to analyze and work to remove ambiguity with spend data.
  • Ability to develop and deliver creative and effective solutions.
  • Ability to successfully manage and deliver multiple complex projects.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Excellent relationship-building skills.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office, Dataiku, and Tableau preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%.

    Compensation:    

Base Pay Range: $53,500-  $93,750

Disclaimer: This base pay range is based on US national averages. Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, and geographic location where the work is performed.
