Job Summary:
We are seeking an HR professional for the position of HR and Facilities Coordinator at our Manufacturing Plant in Charlotte, North Carolina. This role will provide comprehensive support for a wide range of HR activities, ensuring the smooth operation of HR processes, policies and promoting the well-being of our employees.
The HR and Facilities Coordinator will be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks and facilities support functions within HR and the broader department. This role will focus on onboarding new hires, sourcing candidates for hourly job roles, creating employee badges, conducting background checks and drug screenings, managing office supplies, and handling benefit enrollments, among other duties. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, possess strong communication skills, and have a keen eye for detail. Additionally, the HR and Facilities Coordinator will be expected to provide positive and level-headed support to employees, helping to diffuse challenging circumstances and ensure a positive experience for those seeking assistance.
Responsibilities:
Employee Relations Support: Act as a trusted resource for employees, offering guidance and assistance with HR policies, procedures, and employee relations issues.
Onboarding and Offboarding Assistance: Manage the employee onboarding process from pre-hire to week one including supporting new hire orientation, verification of I-9 forms, benefits enrollment, and direct deposit setup. Coordinate offboarding activities and conduct exit interviews, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed.
HR Record Management: Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, including personnel files, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions. Handle digital and physical filing of paperwork.
Employee Engagement Support: Collaborate on the implementation of employee engagement initiatives, such as recognition programs, employee surveys, and social events.
Recruitment and Selection: Provide administrative support to the recruitment efforts for hourly employees, including phone screens, setting interviews, and offer management.
Employee Safety and Wellness: Serve as the site Wellness Champion collaborating on safety initiatives to help promote a culture of workplace safety. Assist in coordinating wellness programs and activities for employee well-being.
Payroll Management: Assist in managing weekly payroll and oversee payroll program activities, such as Perfect Attendance and payroll adjustment forms.
Site Administration: Support facilities activities including ordering catering, managing and maintaining office supplies, and creating badges for new employees.

Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in human resources management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- 1-3 years of HR experience, with a focus on providing support in employee relations, performance management, and HR operations (HR internship experience accepted).
- Knowledge of HR practices, policies, and legal requirements.
- Communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with employees at all levels.
- Proficiency in HCM Systems (Workday, preferred but not required) and Payroll systems as well as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information proficiently.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, particularly in a fast-paced environment.
Work Environment: This position will require an on-site presence at our facility in Charlotte, North Carolina five days a week. This role has been designated as safety-sensitive.
