Job Summary:

As an Aftermarket Product Engineer, you will work as a lead member of the aftermarket parts/product engineering team performing a diverse mixture of engineering activities related to lifecycle support, applying Engineering principles and technical rigor to develop solutions that satisfy product and customer requirements for Trane Supply. Interaction with product design teams, advanced engineering, marketing, field operations, and suppliers will be needed to successfully achieve this team’s goals. Individual will participate in team decision making and problem solving with employees throughout the cross-functional organization.  This role will be a hybrid role located in La Crosse, WI or Davidson, NC.

Where is the work: 

This position has been designated as a Hybrid work schedule with work performed onsite 3 days each week. 

What you will do: 

  • Primary focus of this position is to support the business growth strategy by executing a broad range of technical product activities to present solutions for aftermarket customers.
  • Technical project management & coordination of NPD projects.
  • Monthly project status updates to SBU Senior Leadership.
  • Mentoring & coaching junior team members.
  • Work cross-functionally to deliver programs and schedules on time, cost & quality.
  • Scoping and reviewing CFD and FEA analysis.
  • Schedule creation & tracking of engineering deliverables.
  • Evaluate, analyze, and develop solutions for aftermarket customers within service level agreements.
  • Analyze and research requests for supersessions, Engineer to Order (K001) and last time buy of components.
  • Apply technical expertise to solve design problems or to gauge appropriateness of product to various applications to ensure lifecycle continuity.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of engineering designs, drawings, documentation, and Bill of Materials.
  • Create and maintain engineering documentation, including technical reports, drawings, specifications, and installation instructions.
  • Perform data analysis and create meaningful visualizations.

What you will bring: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and at least 10 years of engineering experience (Product Design, Aftermarket, NPD, evaluating product design, etc.) is required.
  • Supply Chain Experience is a requirement
  • Master’s Degree in Engineering is a plus.
  • Works under minimal supervision, requires independent decision making.
  • Experience leading projects using PDP (or equivalent phase-gate process) is required.
  • Problem assessment; analysis and problem solving skills.
  • Results-oriented individual with emphasis on achieving overall team performance.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Design or application experience with HVAC products, thermodynamics, heat transfer technology is a plus.
  • Ability to understand, condense, and organize information to make informed engineering decisions quickly and efficiently.
  • Strong organization, planning and execution skills required, with an attention to detail.
  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, manufacturing plants, and leadership to facilitate workflow and resolve project barriers and issues across time zones and global regions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical, mathematical, project management and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to extract data from various sources, perform data analysis, and create data visualizations.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce is a plus.
  • Self-starter, critical thinker with desire to learn.

Compensation:   

Base Pay Range: $ 

Total compensation for this role will include a commission/incentive plan. Disclaimer: This base pay range is based on US national averages. Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, geographic location where the work is performed.
