Where is the work:
What you will do: The position is designed for 1L students who are enrolled in a law school program in North Carolina or South Carolina. Under the supervision of in-house counsel, a legal intern is generally expected to assist with a variety of functions within the Legal Department of Trane Technologies. The legal intern may perform functions to assist with litigation, labor & employment, contractual disputes and business transactions in various business sectors of the company. Tasks assigned to the legal intern may include the following: analysis and legal research; drafting memoranda; data collection; conduct factual investigations; prepare documents and correspondence which may include complaints, answers, discovery, memoranda of law and briefs, under the supervision of legal staff; assist in the development of case theory and strategy; attending business calls; and performing other duties as assigned. The candidate must be enrolled as a student in a law school. The ideal candidate should have excellent academic credentials; strong writing, research, analytical and oral communication skills; be organized, reliable, and resourceful; and must demonstrate potential to perform duties of a legal intern in a corporate setting. Prior work experience in the business industry and awareness of corporate culture is a plus.
