As the Sr. Product Manager, Digital, Controls & Monitoring, You will lead the new strategic segment of Digital offerings, onboard and system controls and monitoring for the Life Science Solutions strategic business unit.  This role is responsible for the strategy, offerings roadmap, leading the Digital product growth team, managing the product/services lifecycle, gathering and prioritizing customer requirements, defining the product/service vision, and working closely with engineering development teams, commercialization, and operations to deliver profitable growth.  You will be responsible for – and accountable to – meeting or exceeding Life Science Solutions’ revenue, market share and margin objectives.

Where is the work:
This is a Hybrid position with expected 10-20% travel including international. 

What you will do: 

  • Develop a vision for this new Portfolio that will selectively and purposefully penetrate a $10B total addressable market in both the Health Care and Biosciences markets.  Create and execute multigenerational product plans (MGPP), ensuring that product positioning, pricing, cost, margins and customer value proposition support the overall strategy and direction.  Set the groundwork for future mergers or business acquisitions and internally drive new product development.
  • Identify ways to accelerate growth and scale the digital and monitoring offerings.  Conduct industry, market, and competitor analysis, including detailed segmentation of end customers and products.  Quantify growth opportunities that would enable participation in markets that are growing faster and more profitably.  Visit customers face to face to understand their needs.
  • Initiate and support business cases for NPD that execute elements of a multi-generational product plan.  Then, collaborate with project management and cross-functional product development teams to deliver projects thru a typical product development process.
  • Lead product line strategy and long-range plan development, P&L and annual operating plan for product lines.  Effectively manage tradeoffs between short and long term product line performance as measured in revenue, margin, and market share.
  • Lead a Product Growth Team (PGT).  This is a cross functional team including the Product Manager, Operations Leader, Engineering Leader, Procurement, and Solutions Marketer focused on driving profitable share growth.
  • Communicate and advocate the strategy roadmap and plan with Business Unit leadership and the broader organization; coordinate and execute the plan with and thru functional partners across a matrixed organization.  Must understand organizational cultures and have proven ability to operate across organizational boundaries.  Executive level communication and coordination experience is a must.
  • Develop and execute channel strategy aimed at developing and maturing channel capability to drive growth in market coverage and closure rate to enable product line to reach its entitlement in the market.

What you will bring:

  •          7+ years of product management, business leadership or strategic marketing experience.  Demonstrated success envisioning and commercializing products in a regulated industry.
  •       Bachelor's degree required. Technical bachelor’s degree preferred. MBA highly desired.
  •       Experience in equipment or building controls, equipment remote monitoring, digital platforms and software, and/or the work of integrating equipment with building and facility management systems.
  •       Experience in the regulated environment of life sciences, pharma manufacturing, medical laboratory and research, medical devices or hospitals and health systems. Cold storage equipment and cold chain understanding is a plus.
  •       10-20% travel

Compensation: 

Total Target Compensation: $150,000 - $250,000
Total Target Cash represents a mix of fixed base salary plus payment from sales commissions.  Sales commissions plans are uncapped plans.
