Job Summary:

Trane Technologies is hiring a Sr. Manager - Plant Quality in Noblesville, Indiana. The Sr. Manager – Plant Quality responsibility for Plant Quality within multiple operations facilities within the LSS Equipment business and its adherence to their unique and separate Quality Management System (QMS) as defined by ISO/FDA certifications comprised of a medical device ISO13485/MDR plant and an ISO9001 plant. This position will lead a diverse team of technicians, engineers, and managers and will partner heavily with the SBU Quality Leader, Plant Managers and other department leaders throughout LSS. Plant quality encompasses many regulatory requirements in the development and monitoring of process controls and control plans, APQP deployment for NPD, CAPA, metrology design, calibration, final test and other quality gates, incoming inspection, management of NCM, unit and part repair and deviation management, defect tracking and management, quality system creation and deployment and compliance assurance. This role will champion and support the LSS Quality BOS creation and deployment and will be heavily connected to NPD rollout and topline growth initiatives and PGT team involvement. Lastly, this role will create and own Quality KPI’s and budgets for their facilities and will report directly to the SBU Quality Leader

What you will do:

  • Enforce, promote and comply with workplace safety procedures for self and team.
  • Leads, mentors, communicates expectations and evaluates performance of the plant quality team and ensures quality assurance activities, including product and customer regulatory audits, final product test and release, calibration system, internal DPU/COPQ tracking and resolution management, receiving and inspection, and metrology services, quality systems development and maintenance, among many other items. provides coaching, guidance, and support for the continued professional and leadership.
  • Lead strategic quality advancements through the planning of product quality audits; root cause investigation and corrective action planning of final test and in-process quality defects; leading cross-functional efforts with other departments to improve new and existing product and engineering designs, manufacturing training methods, and participating in continuous improvement activities through the standard escalation process.
  • Champions ISO/FDA and Quality programs within Manufacturing facilities including, but not limited to calibrated equipment, customer certification, material and product traceability, critical to quality process audits, process control, internal corrective action, and device history reporting.
  • Develops, implements and improve internal defect data collection methods. Champion for internal quality KPI and develops reports and analyzes data for trends and quality improvement opportunities (PowerBI dashboard development). Applies problem solving techniques to improve and sustain product quality and process effectiveness.
  • Champions manufacturing process control planning, design, process, validation, equipment, metrology, budget, and personnel. Leads LSS Equipment business in delivering Operational Excellence in our many embedded Fabrication and Assembly processes. Excellence to be measured in quality improvement, cost improvements, and productivity increases. Leads projects that could include capital equipment design and implementation as well as metrology design and process integration. With this, develops and owns the internal PPAP process, PCN, and other APQP elements and works within the Strategic A3 framework to develop and execute results. 
  • Leads team to deliver on the NPD and topline growth initiatives and participates on PGT team and LSS strategic and A3, SCRUM, and BOS development and deployment. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

What you will bring: 

  • Bachelor's degree required (Engineering preferred)
  • Minimum of 15 years related work experience in an ISO regulated production or product engineering environment with at least 5 years in a quality leadership role (prefer ISO13485 experience/FDA). Strong problem-solving skills using methods such as 8-D, DMAIC, CAPA as well as familiarity with AIAG/ASQ requirements including PPAP, PFMEA, APQP, and SPC
  • Ability to balance interests of a variety of customers; readily readjusts priorities to respond to pressing and changing demands. 
  • Ability to read and understand and interpret complicated engineering drawings and / or test data.
  • Ability to develop procedures and training materials using applicable software tools (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Visio).
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate to all levels of an organization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify and implement novel solutions to meet business needs.
  • Ability to work both independently and in partnership with others.
  • Strong organization and project management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross functional teams while assurance compliance.

Compensation:    

Base Pay Range: $88,500 - $150,000  

Total compensation for this role will include a commission/incentive plan. Disclaimer: This base pay range is based on US national averages. Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, geographic location where the work is performed. 

This role has been designated by the Company as Safety Sensitive.
