Where is the work:
This position has been designated as a Hybrid work schedule with work performed onsite 3 days each week.
What you will do:
- Lead internal US Indirect tax compliance team and outsourcing partners including ensuring proper sales & use, gross receipts, B&O and property tax return compliance, review of annual nexus changes and quarterly reconciliations of payable accounts
- Partner with the business and other corporate functions to address a broad range of Indirect tax, ranging from effective and practical support for day-to-day queries, US Indirect tax planning, and more extensive technical Indirect Tax support on company initiatives such as new market entry, acquisitions/divestitures etc.
- Responsible for the on-boarding of the Indirect Tax activities at each go-live of Oracle R12/Vertex from all US legal entities including:
- Partner with the business, functions, and direct tax and transfer pricing teams to develop and communicate indirect tax requirements
- Validate through the testing cycles the current tax treatment of the requirements and transaction flows and correct where needed
- Partner with the business, functions, and direct tax and transfer pricing teams to develop and communicate indirect tax requirements
- Identify and pursue Indirect tax efficiencies / opportunities
- Oversee Indirect tax audit team in all US taxing jurisdictions with the goal to minimize any taxes assessed. This includes face to face meeting with auditors and developing relationships that will benefit the Company
- Monitor legislative, case law, and other changes in Indirect tax guidance or practice, determine the impact to the company and effectively implement where necessary. Follow up on upcoming changes in Indirect tax legislation and their impact on the organization.
- Guide our contracting group and our tax exemption group located in La Crosse, Wisconsin, including instituting process improvements to ensure that we are taxing our customers correctly as early in the PO/Invoicing process as possible and monitoring customer disputes
What you will bring:
- Degree in accounting, masters level preferred
- A minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience. Prior experience with advanced indirect tax technology
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and influencing skills
- Hands on, problem solver, result oriented but focused on customer satisfaction
- Team player, able to work in a high paced, cross-cultural environment
- Able to work independently and manage competing assignments
Compensation:
Base Pay Range: $120,550-159,950 Total compensation for this role will include a commission/incentive plan. Disclaimer: This base pay range is based on US national averages. Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, geographic location where the work is performed.
