Join Thermo King as a Senior Reliability Engineer! As a Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for enhancing the reliability and durability of Thermo King products by identifying potential failure modes, recommending testing, and recommending design improvements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in reliability engineering, a passion for problem-solving, and the ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments.

Where is the work:
This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule (3 or more days onsite per week) based out of Minneapolis, MN.

 

What you will do: 

  • Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA): Facilitate FMEA to identify potential failure modes, assess risks, and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Investigate failures, determine root causes, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Accelerated Life Testing (ALT): Design and facilitate with engineering ALT to simulate long-term stressors, analyze results, and recommend design improvements.
  • Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM): Support maintenance strategies to enhance product reliability.
  • Design for Reliability (DfR): Collaborate with design engineers to ensure reliability is integrated into product designs, focusing on component selection, redundancy, and safety margins.
  • Field Data Analysis: Collect and analyze data from products in the field to identify reliability trends and inform design changes.
  • Warranty Data Analysis: Analyze warranty claim data to identify common failure patterns and inform warranty policies and product requirements accordingly.
  • Environmental Testing: Support test plans to ensure products can withstand extreme environmental conditions and meet industry standards.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in reliability growth programs and Kaizen events to drive continuous improvement in product reliability.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Prepare detailed reliability reports and share findings and recommendations with relevant stakeholders.

 

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Reliability Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5-7 years of experience in reliability engineering, preferably in the automotive, aerospace, or HVAC industries.
  • Proven experience with FMEA, RCA, and ALT.
  • Hands-on experience with design for reliability (DfR) principles.
  • Strong background in analyzing field data, warranty data, and conducting environmental testing.
  • Proficiency in reliability analysis tools and software (e.g., ReliaSoft, Weibull++, etc.).

 

Compensation: 

Annual base compensation: $100,000 – $140,000
