Job Summary

• Provides technical expertise on designing new products and processes, and improving and maintaining existing products.

• Supports project execution by scheduling work to meet completion dates and technical specifications.

• Responsible for varied engineering assignments requiring a broad knowledge of an engineering specialty.

• May provide technical leadership and assist in training less experienced engineers.

• Works under limited supervision.

• Involved in purchasing/documenting and awareness of budgets.


Key Experiences:  

• Develop detailed specifications, designs, cad models, and lead product and technical design reviews.

• Provide project leadership and represent assigned product technology or subsystem to the company or SBU

• Gain professional certification to expand experiences and skillsets, and enhance professional creditility

• Mentor, train, and share knowledge and expertise with others

• Develop or improve standards work (practices) across the company

• Benchmark and share best practices within IR and with industry experts and vendors

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or similar in Mechanical Engineering

  • Experience: > 5 years
  • Product design experience in pneumatic and hydraulic components: determination of pressure envelopes, proven dynamic and static seal interfaces

  • Product component design experience relevant to machining of engineered polymers and metal castings

  • Design for manufacture experience especially for injection molding or sandcasting / die-casting / lost wax casting

  • Experience with CREO /Pro/Engineer or other 3D solid modeling software

  • Preference for knowledge and design experience in gear design, bearing systems, or mobile / industrial hydraulic component design

  • Material selection and heat treat / surface process selection with pre and post machining techniques for high load / long life / wear application experience

  • Familiarity with diaphragm pump design and application

  • Familiarity with Piston pump design and application

  • Experience in industrial machine design

  • Team player capable of working with multiple engineering & cross functional teams located in USA, China and India

  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills

  • Familiar with new product development gate review process

  • Versed in various tools such as DFSS, DFMEA, 8-D, DOE, DFM&A, etc.

  • Experience with tools such as Excel, MathCad, MATLAB, EES, FEA, CFD etc

  • Familiar with ANSI Y14.5 drafting standards, GD&T standards, etc.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Ensure product line integrity by design specification creation and clarification
