Where is the work:

Hybrid: This position has been designated as a Hybrid work schedule with work performed onsite in Tyler, Texas 3 days each week.


 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design electronic circuit boards using embedded microcontrollers or microprocessors with both analog and digital circuitry.
  • Develop and maintain hardware specifications for products.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, quality assurance protocols and environmental requirements.
  • Lead the planning and execution of validation tests for PCBAs and electronic components, ensuring they adhere to Trane’s demanding quality and reliability standards.
  • Work closely with contract manufacturers, suppliers, and plant manufacturing teams to deliver high-quality, maintainable products.
  • Partner with software development, project management, systems engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless integration of hardware components and assemblies.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues that arise during development or post-production.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in a hardware design or sustainment role.
  • Strong understanding of hardware design principles, including circuit design, PCB layout, and embedded systems.
  • Proficiency in hardware development tools and software, such as Altium EDA, CAD and simulation software.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in designing electronics for HVAC or industrial products.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance, reliability, and quality assurance processes.
  • Understanding of wired and wireless communication interfaces (examples include RS485, CAN, Bluetooth, and Wifi).
  • Knowledge of power electronics and experience in mitigating EMC issues.
  • Understanding of embedded firmware, with the capability to develop prototype code for initial hardware validation.
  • Demonstrated mentoring or leadership abilities.

  • Responsible to ensure hardware solutions align with project schedules and will meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Solid understanding of hardware design, development, and testing processes.



 

Compensation:

Enter salary/hourly rate here $ 90,000-130,000

Base Pay Range: This base pay range is based on US national averages. Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, geographic location where the work is performed.
