Job Summary:
The Material and Inventory Leader for Thermo King and Residential will be responsible for providing hands on leadership and influence to drive engagement to create and lead an accurate, standard, and capable processes through the business, resulting in improvements to customer availability, share growth, profitability and working capital. The key performance indicators that will be utilized to measure the success of the role are Inventory Turns, Equipment & Parts Availability (At Risk %, OTS, Span), Cycle Time, Engagement, BOS Standard Work Proliferation, MDI Capability, Data & Analytics Enhancements, Share Growth & Profitability.

Where is the work:
From Monday to Thursday, work onsite with your colleagues. On Fridays, choose your work location, balancing what your work requires. The company has designated this as a safety sensitive role.
What you will do:
- Act as primary point of responsibility for all raw materials management at all Thermo King and Residential production sites.
- Responsible to deploy and enhance the BOS process standard work to optimize the utilization of business resources, minimize working capital, maximize cash flow and exceed customer’s expectations for delivery.
- Manage a corporate based team and serve as a functional manager for plant Materials Leaders with responsibility for the optimization of all materials management activities including scheduling, purchasing, materials movement, supplier performance measurement, and indirect materials management.
- Responsible for the implementation, support, and compliance of the Materials standard work playbook processes and systems to facilitate the fulfillment process from production planning to material procurement and warehousing, through product shipment.
- Provide required support to Global Procurement Commodity Leaders as needed during supplier selection process.
- Develop process, continuous improvement, problem solving, and leadership competency capability in all levels of materials management resources (Inventory, Materials & SIOP) throughout the value streams.
- Function as the liaison between the SBU, materials council and enterprise in support of various initiatives and projects.
- Ensure alignment of the production plan to the published SIOP consensus plan.
- Up to 50% travel depending on business needs
What you will bring:
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in the integrated functions of materials management in a manufacturing environment that has embraced lean concepts, MRP manufacturing practices, and progressive supplier relationships.
- A minimum of five (5) years in managerial experience focusing on standardizing planning & execution, reducing sourcing complexity, and talent development.
- Experience with rate-based or flow line (non-MRP) and job shop manufacturing environments.
- Experience in operations, inventory management, MRP and lean manufacturing processes.
- Experience with visual management systems.
- In-depth knowledge of computerized integrated information systems (manufacturing, materials management, production planning, procurement and distribution) and a superior understanding of manufacturing material flow in a plant.
- Must possess a strong customer service orientation and provide dedicated support of internal customer requirements.
- Must be a proactive change agent and possess leadership skills to build and maintain a team-oriented environment while leveraging lean methodologies.
- Must have solid interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate staff and to interact with various departments throughout the organization.
- Must be a flexible, decisive, and proactive problem solver.
- Must know how to influence bottom line results.
- Must be a strong communicator and possess strong organizational skills, with ability to work on multiple priorities at once.
- Must be able to work well in high pressure, fast-paced environment and be proficient at conflict resolution.
- Must be proficient in information technology systems utilized in Materials Management.
- APICS Certification (CPIM and/or CSCP) preferred
