Job Summary:
Trane in the Upper Midwest Region is hiring for a Regional Controls Engineering & Estimating Leader to join our team. In this role you will be responsible for the administration, implementation, and management of the controls engineering processes and estimating standards in its goal of operational excellence, support of overall strategic objectives, and accountable for overall engineering and estimating teams and deliverables.

Responsibilities:
As the Regional Controls Engineering & Estimating Leader, this role will lead, oversee and coordinate, with other Company Associates (Sales & Service) and Customer Representatives, the delivery of project and business activities, focused in Controls Engineering and Estimating, but not limited to the following:
Directly supervise the Controls Engineering and Controls Estimating personnel assigned.
Manage performance by monitoring personnel effectiveness and efficiency in relation to deliverable expectations and performance goals.
Responsible to be a coach, mentor and develop controls project engineering and estimating team.
Maintain and improve the engineering and estimating processes and standards expectations. Deploy engineering and estimating standards across the Upper Midwest Region.
Provides engineering and estimating direction and support to other team members.
Sales / Estimating Support - Provide guidance on systems and solutions.
Make project engineer assignments based on current workload and project completion expectations.
o Ability to effectively communicate current backlog and lead times for starting new projects and project completion.
o Coordinate with each Area Contracting Manager on projects priorities
Manage CEPC (Centralized Engineering and Programming Center) relationship to ensure consistent drawing and submittal standards and to coordinate project assignments and support of those completed by CEPC.
Participate in appropriate project transition meetings either in person, virtually or phone as needed to support the Controls Project Engineers and Estimators.
o Support each Controls Project Engineer and Estimator to identify gaps or concerns to be reviewed during transition meetings.
Review all control drawings prior to submittal.
o Utilize drawing review expectations to validate the control drawings meet project requirements while maintaining current regional standards.
o Provide coaching to other team members to drive drawing quality improvement
Some travel will be expected with this role to effectively support and coach each controls project engineer and estimator within the region.
Maintains customer satisfaction by investigating concerns, implementing corrective action, communication with staff, providing customer feedback and solutions.
Strong collaboration with other Business Streams & functional leaders within the Upper Midwest Region for greater inter-departmental collaboration and cohesiveness.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly supervises approx. ten (10) to twelve (12) associates in the Contracting department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include interviewing, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints, coaching and mentoring employees; and resolving problems.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum five (5) years’ experience in Building Automation and HVAC systems preferred.
Experienced and knowledgeable in contracting processes associated with the design and installation of building automation systems.

Must possess a valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations included, but not limited to:
o DUI, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless/Careless Driving or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years.
Compensation:
Base Pay Range: $98,000 - $140,800
Additional Compensation: Incentive
