Job Summary:
The Quality Supervisor will be responsible for supervising receiving and Inspection teams that directly or indirectly support the plant. Creates, develops, establishes and maintains quality methodologies, systems, and practices which meet customer, and regulatory requirements. Identifies, coordinates, and assigns project priorities based on business and department objectives. Ensures implementation of assurances, process controls, and CAPA systems designed to meet or exceed internal and external requirements. Responsibility for achieving maximum quality and cost effectiveness in an on-time and efficient manner. Actively participates in all areas of team member relations and development while promoting total employee engagement. This position reports to the Manufacturing Quality Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Ensures a safe workplace is provided for all employees; frequently inspects department for safety compliance. Completes accident reports and schedules appropriate follow-up reviews; identifies accidents related to operator/machine error and initiates necessary training to prevent future accidents.
- Responsible for fostering open communications throughout the organization and actively clarifying goals, accomplishments and activities in support of operating objectives. This includes conducting daily meetings, preparing and conducting the MDI process and boards each day.
- Supervise and mentor quality control inspectors and receiving clerks.
- Evaluates team performance, provides feedback and conducts or coordinates training as appropriate. Maintains staffing requirements and training records.
- Reviews daily and weekly receiving and inspection performance to assure all deadlines are met.
- Maintains and updates Inbound documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOP) and work instructions.
- Proactively investigates, identifies, and implements best-in-class quality practices.
- Mentor for technical guidance in identifying and resolving quality issues using six sigma, lean, mistake proofing, and related tools/techniques.
- Identifies and implements effective systems and process controls supporting the development, qualification, testing, measurement, or ongoing manufacturing of products.
- Leads in the implementation of assurances, process controls, and CAPA systems. Acts as an effective leader or team member supporting quality disciplines, decisions, and practices.
- Assures the development and execution of streamlined mistake proof business and production systems which effectively identify and resolve quality issues.
- Partners with internal and external stakeholders and vendors to ensure quality objectives are met and to provide solutions to quality issues.
- Participates in special projects to develop or improve inbound policies, programs, or activities.
- Communicates/updates management of daily problems and concerns, identifying areas needing attention to ensure the continuity of the operation.
- Monitor and report on team member attendance, timeliness regarding be at work on time, assisting with time clock accuracy.
Qualifications:
- College Degree preferred.
- 5+ years of supervisory or proven experience in quality and distribution operations including: receiving, stocking, replenishment, cycle counting, order picking, shipping processes.
- Oracle and/or Dematic software experience preferred.
- Experience with Lean principles and techniques preferred.
- Union labor relations experience preferred.
- Work requires periodic stooping/bending and frequent walking/standing throughout day.
- Requires occasional lifting of objects less than 25 pounds as well as occasional lifting of objects 25 to 40 pounds.
- Work involves activities that require special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts, machines, conveyors, or vehicles.
- Requires use of personal protective equipment

- Ability to research and analyze information and draw valid conclusions and recommendations.
- Adapt quickly to changing or competing priorities in a fast paced, deadline focused environment.
- Ability to recognize the way it’s always been done is no longer effective, and subsequently the creativity to discover new and effective methods.

This position has been designated as On-Site. This role has been deemed as Safety Sensitive.
Compensation:
Base Pay Range: $80,000 - $100,000
Disclaimer: This base pay range is based on US national averages. Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, geographic location where the work is performed.
