Position Overview: Join Thermo King as a Digital Offerings Leader! The Digital Offerings Leader is responsible for leading all aspects of Thermo King’s digital offering strategy, new offer development, price/value product management, and commercialization for the fastest-growing segment of the Thermo King portfolio. As a strategic leader, you are accountable for driving profitable growth and achieving sustainability objectives in alignment with Trane Technologies’ overall strategy and goals. Additionally, you will lead a Digital Product Growth Team (PGT) for our Thermo King Business Unit with process excellence through demonstrated leadership.

Where is the work: 

This position has been designated as a Hybrid work schedule with work performed onsite 3 days each week.  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the TracKing telematics software offering through the entire Thermo King product lifecycle for all transport refrigeration and HVAC categories, gathering and prioritizing customer requirements, and defining the vision for both enabling Controls hardware and value-added digital software subscription services.
  • Develop a strategic vision and framework for Thermo King’s digital product & services offerings, including knowledge about timing, resource implementations, tradeoffs, and competitive landscape data.
  • Demonstrate market leadership in crafting digital offerings roadmap, both for sale with Thermo King equipment in traditional Thermo King transport refrigeration unit markets, supporting expanded use cases for auxiliary power units and HVAC systems, and expanding to meet and exceed customer needs for cold chain integrity and fleet efficiency and uptime.
  • Visit customers and Thermo King dealers face-to-face to understand customer needs from their business point of view.  Develop a keen understanding of their underlying needs and determine optimal strategies to make them more successful.
  • Lead interactions with engineering and the entirety of the Thermo King Digital organization to ensure Telematics product design, quality, reliability, and profitability goals are met.
  • Communicate Digital roadmap and plan with the Business Unit product planning team; coordinate the plan with functional partners.
  • Coordinate with the marketing and sales teams to develop and implement a marketing strategy and plan (including targeted programs and promotions) for each new or updated product/service or extension.
  • Lead interactions with the sales team to review and adjust the distribution strategy for each product/service line based on performance.
  • Advocate the strategy roadmap to the broader organization.
  • Develop compelling communication around the value proposition and differentiation to competitive offers and alternative solutions.
  • Understand organizational culture and operate across organizational boundaries.
  • Lead the execution of detailed demand planning for all product/service lines based on input from industry, market, and competitor analyses.
  • Work independently to manage and lead standard management routine activities pertaining to Product Growth Teams, driving all meetings, measuring metrics, conducting analytics, and utilizing an effective visual management system.
  • Apply a Multi-Generation Product Plan (MPP) in creating a vision for the product/service.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Engineering, or other technical-related degree.
  • Master’s degree preferred, but not required.
  • Ten (10) to 15 years of overall experience of increasing levels of complexity with a minimum of 7 years of leadership experience in product management, sales, or other relevant areas.
  • Demonstrated success defining and launching complex product and service/software offerings.
  • Strong technical aptitude and the ability to work across different functions.
  • Strong financial acumen is required.
  • Excellent organizational skills and flexibility to handle a variety of time-sensitive tasks and projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and provide effective support on a broad range of activities requiring attention to detail.
  • Solid analytical and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of the transport refrigeration business and trucking industry preferred, but not required.

Compensation:   

Base Pay Range: $134,500 - $225,000

Disclaimer: This base pay range is based on US national averages. Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, geographic location where the work is performed. 

Total compensation for this role will also include a commission/incentive plan.
