Trane Technologies in Newberry, SC is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Plant Accountant to support our new PCU business and Oracle implementation. The Plant Accountant will play a critical role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, cost management, and compliance with accounting standards. This position requires a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, cost accounting, and ERP systems, particularly Oracle.

Job Summary:

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly journal entries and reconciliations
  • Support the analysis of key financial metrics, including production costs, variances, and profitability.
  • Help in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Support the analysis of production costs and variances, identifying areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvement.
  • Collaborate with the IT and finance teams to support the Oracle ERP system implementation.
  • Assist in data migration and system configuration to meet accounting and reporting requirements.
  • Provide support to plant personnel on Oracle system usage and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in implementing and maintaining internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Work closely with plant management, production teams, and corporate finance to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to support business initiatives and process improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 2 - 4 years’ experience in general accounting or cost accounting in a manufacturing environment 
  • Knowledge of GAAP (Generally accepted accounting principles)
  • High level of proficiency in MS Office products, Oracle or equivalent ERP/manufacturing application, OneStream, Exact Max, Dynamics, Tableau and Alteryx experience a plus

Compensation:   

Base Pay Range: $ 67,200-88,800
