Job Description:
As a Manufacturing Operations / Engineering Intern, you will work with our engineering and production teams to support various manufacturing processes. You will help design, develop, and optimize processes to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and ensure product quality. This internship will provide valuable insights into manufacturing engineering and operations, helping you build a strong foundation for your future career.

Key Responsibilities could include:
Process Design and Improvement:
Assist in designing and optimizing manufacturing processes. Perform line balancing, capacity analysis, time studies, and labor costing. Help implement lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives. Assist in developing standard operating procedures (SOPs) for manufacturing processes.
Equipment and Tooling:
Assist in procuring new manufacturing equipment and tooling. Help create preventive maintenance programs for equipment. Assist in troubleshooting and resolving equipment issues. Ensure equipment and tooling meet safety and regulatory standards.
Quality Control:
Collaborate with quality engineers to resolve quality issues. Assist with root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality problems. Monitor and analyze production data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Collaboration and Communication:
Assist with Design for Manufacturability (DFM). Work with production staff to ensure manufacturing processes are understood and followed. Communicate effectively with suppliers, vendors, and other stakeholders.
Documentation and Reporting:
Help create and maintain documentation of manufacturing processes. Prepare reports on manufacturing performance, including metrics like cycle time, yield, and downtime.
Safety and Compliance:
Ensure manufacturing processes comply with safety regulations and company policies. Conduct safety audits and implement corrective actions.
Project Management:
Participate in projects to improve manufacturing processes, reduce costs, and increase efficiency. Help develop project plans, timelines, and budgets.
Cost Management:
Help analyze manufacturing costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
Innovation and Technology:
Stay updated on the latest manufacturing technologies and trends. Evaluate and recommend new technologies to improve manufacturing processes.
Qualifications:
Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
Be a U.S. citizen or have the legal right to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.
Basic understanding of manufacturing processes.
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles (Kaizen, 5S, etc.).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Understanding of PLC (Programmable Logic Control) is a plus.
Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification is a plus but not required.
Compensation:
Base Pay Range: $26.10/hr - $29.58/hr
This base pay range is based on US national averages. Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, and geographic location where the work is performed.
