Position Description 

  • The Objective of the Maintenance Technician is to anticipate and prevent safety and downtime issues of the manufacturing and facilities equipment and process. 
  • The Maintenance Technician is responsibilities includes the following: 
  • Preventative Maintenance and inspection Activities manufacturing machinery and facilities  
  • Corrective Maintenance when something does not function properly 
  • Improve Maintenance procedures, methods, and actions to create the most reliable processes 

Essential Job Functions 

  • Inspecting buildings, equipment, and systems to identify any wear, malfunctions, and deviations from normal. 
  • Identifying, Assessing, and Repairing faulty equipment units and damaged structures using Root Cause and fact-based troubleshooting to determine source of failure. 
  • Developing and implementing preventative maintenance procedures. 
  • Managing heating and plumbing systems to guarantee functionality. 
  • Planning, scheduling, and performing Preventative Inspections, replacements, or repairs. 
  • Conducting periodic quality / performance checks on equipment and systems to ensure everything is functioning properly and to the expectation by design, OEM Specs or other standard. 
  • Performing general maintenance tasks including landscaping, painting, and carpentry. 
  • Uses various material handling equipment such as hoists, carts, lifts, fork trucks and hand trucks in moving light to heavy weight material. 
  • Uses a variety of lock-out/tag-out devices as required per plant LOTOTO Plan. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required including; 
  • Actively contributing to Safety, Quality and Productivity activities and improvements 

  • Maintaining the work area for cleanliness, Orderliness, and efficiency Standards 

  • Rotate job duties, areas as needed for Safety, Quality and Productivity.

  • Enter Data in computer systems, fill in forms, charts etc. 
  • Comfortable to work independently and as a Team member to identify, improve, troubleshoot, and take ownership for results of the machine or process the operator is responsible.

Education, Experience & Skills 

  • Some formal education or training including military training. 
  •  High school diploma or General Equivalent Degree (GED) required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.  
  • 5 years manufacturing experience preferred. 
  • Three (3) plus years of experience in Maintenance is preferred 
  • Strong mechanical skills based on the 5 years of experience including; 
  • Repair or replacement of Pneumatic / hydraulic or actuators 

  • Understanding and utilizing torque specs 

  • Repair or replacement of conveyance devices / lift devices 

  • Repair or replacement of valves, piping, tubing including gaskets or seals 

  • Some experience with fixturing is Preferred 

  • Basic electrical skills. 
  • 120 V / 240 V experience Preferred 

  • Signal Voltage experience preferred 

  • Comprehension of schematics/blueprints. 
  • Ability to draw / sketch mechanical device 

  • Ability to Draw / Sketch a small circuit 

  • Knowledge / Experience of Hydraulic/pneumatic systems desirable. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively through oral and written communications. 
  • Ability and Experience identifying, analyzing, and solving problems. 
  • Ability to work with others collaboratively. 
  • Willingness to change, flex and learn 
  • Basic math skills (Add, Subtract, Multiply, Divide, Measure, use a calculator,) 
  • Basic Writing Skills (Writing notes legibly, forming numbers / numerals, understandable) 
  • Computer Skills (Filling in Forms, logging in, navigating websites, etc.) 
  • Experience using a CMMS (Writing, retrieving, editing work orders, entering data, times, etc.) 
  • Managing Spare parts usage, identifying, retrieving, documenting, and stocking when needed. 
  • Follow and adhere to all safety, quality and Trane Technologies policies and procedures. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required including; 
  • Actively contributing to Safety, Quality and Productivity activities and improvements 

  • Maintaining the work area for cleanliness, Orderliness, and efficiency Standards 

  • Rotate job duties, areas as needed for Safety, Quality and Productivity. 

  • Enter Data in computer systems, fill in forms, charts etc. 
  • Comfortable to work independently and as a Team member to identify, improve, troubleshoot, and take ownership for maintenance and machine reliability / uptime.

Physical Requirements 

  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of internal company and external associates, both written and orally, including the telephoneMobility within the work facility.  
  • Ability to stand / walk 8 – 10 +Hours  
  • Ability to bend, lift, reach and turn throughout the shift 
    • Ability to lift 40+Lbs repeatably through the shift 
    • Breaks are Formalized, Scheduled, and regulated due to the interconnectivity of the assembly line 

    This will be a Tobacco Free Facility (No Smoking, No Chewing tobacco, No Smokeless pouches, No Vaping on Site).

    This is a Drug Free Facility.
