Inventory Supervisor

This role is designated as On-site. This is a safety sensitive role.
The Inventory Supervisor is responsible for inventory processes, including leading hourly team members in cycle counting, resolving inventory issues, slotting, and consolidation to maximize warehouse productivity in a distribution environment. This position requires a flexible schedule and overtime is required during peak business season and for physical inventory planning and execution.

Responsibilities:
- Ensure all stockroom accuracy procedures are performed according to Trane Technologies BOS standards and accurate and detailed reporting is performed
- Management and oversite of the cycle count program, bin audits, and physical inventory
- Oversite of the damaged and OSMI scrap processes
- Coordinate inventory and consolidation activities and assign work with an emphasis on driving improvements in operational efficiency
- Manage problem resolution processes and ensure timely resolution of issues
- Create and manage warehouse slotting processes to drive efficiency in shipping and receiving
- Coordination and execution of equipment testing and ratings processes
- Drive process improvement through Managing for Daily Improvement process (MDI)
- Ensure all work procedures are performed safely and in accordance with established EHS procedures and policies
- Create an effective and efficient team by providing coaching and guidance through collaboration and teamwork
- Develop our team to help improve their skills and become future leaders
- Responsible for the selection of new candidates that fit our culture and values, and can perform work to support our business goals
- Support operations for the timely unloading, receiving, storage, and delivery of material while maintaining inventory accuracy
- Be a steward of Lean through BOS, (Business Operating System) execution; recommending improvements to reduce cost and drive productivity while achieving site-specific goals
- Identify and implement cost reduction measures to drive operational efficiency
- Develop, implement, and improve standard work
- Engage in and support strategic planning and problem solving which drives us closer to a world-class distribution model. Coordinate and work with other functions within the RHVAC&S Distribution team, the RHVAC&S SBU, and Enterprise team
- Cross train and cover for warehouse supervisors as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Key Competencies and Success Factors:
A successful candidate:
- Possesses a strong customer service orientation and provide dedicated support of internal customer requirements
- Strong leadership experience with the ability to drive strong employee engagement
- Has knowledge of computerized integrated information systems (manufacturing, materials management, production planning, procurement and distribution)
- Has experience working in Inventory and Inventory related functions in a warehouse setting
- Must be flexible, decisive, and proactive at problem-solving
- Works well in high pressure, fast-paced environment
- Has strong organizational skills, with the ability to work on multiple priorities at once
- Proficient at conflict resolution
- Resourceful, can find solutions to unusual problems and meet customer needs
- Must have an excellent understanding of manufacturing material flow
- Strong analytical & organizational skills, very detail-oriented and good with numbers
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience preferred
- Strong leadership skills, with excellent supervisory skills
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in inventory or related function
- Team Leader or manager in large distribution/warehouse operations experience preferred
- Excellent communication skills, (written, oral, and presentation skills), with the ability to communicate effectively to senior leadership, peers, and operations staff
- Leadership through influence, coaching, mentoring, and teaching; ability to foster a culture of teamwork and collaboration
- Oracle R12 Experience preferred
- APICS certification preferred
Other Requirements:
Must be flexible to work different shifts as requested
Must be able to travel (up to 25%) to other locations and customers
Base Pay Range: $65,000- $85,000 annually
