Trane Technologies has an exciting opportunity for an Intelligent Services Engineer in the Pacific Southwest Region. As an Intelligent Services Engineer, you will be supporting one of the most challenging and fastest growing businesses, Trane Digital Services. This role involves collaborating with internal teams and clients to identify and develop HVAC system operation improvements and energy conservation projects including scope of work development, cost estimating, working with Energy Engineers to quantify energy savings, and proposal support. The Intelligent Services Engineer is responsible for fulfilling consultative agreements designed to identify HVAC system operation optimization and energy reduction opportunities. This role is also responsible for identifying, scope development and project validation of improvement projects. This position requires mastery of high-performance HVAC mechanical and BAS systems, ability to support sales in a consultative sales environment and energy engineering aptitude.

What you will do:
- Identification of HVAC & BAS system optimization opportunities utilizing a combination of BAS systems, data analytics, fault detection diagnostics, energy metering and utility billing data.
- Develop HVAC systems and solutions using a combination of Trane equipment and controls and other leading HVAC equipment and systems that include project scoping, concept development, engineering analysis, and system validation.
- Creates customer facing consultation presentations and clearly articulate technical opportunities in a way that non-technical customers understand the opportunity and potential impact to their building.
- Supports Account Managers in developing and establishing optimization projects scope of work and support the sales efforts to close these projects.
- Provide key technical support in consultation and sales meetings with customers in pursuit of Trane business, including participation on strategic project acquisition teams.
- Continually validate the effectiveness of completed projects.
- Assist and support all efforts of acquisition and customer satisfaction.
- Some travel required; other duties as assigned
What you will bring:
- Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; minimum five (5) to ten (10) years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Four-year electrical or mechanical engineering / design degree, preferred.
- Certified Energy Manager, preferred.
- Working knowledge of cost and savings studies incorporating energy conversation measures (ECM).
- Working knowledge of energy rebate programs, utility tariffs and utility bill analysis.
- Ability to audit existing mechanical and building automation systems and recommend solutions to improve operation and energy efficiency.
- Must have a general knowledge of basic engineering, electricity, mechanical HVAC systems and energy.
- Ability to develop and write HVAC system level sequence of operations and other system level control requirements a benefit.
- Proficiency in Visio, AutoCAD and/or other design software; knowledge of computerized energy simulation tools a plus
- Ability to work regularly and dependably as well as function in a team environment.
- Flexibility to work outside normal work hours/weekends, as required, including some travel with occasional overnight stays.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations including, but not limited to:
- DUI, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless / Carless Driving, or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years.
Compensation:
Base Salary: $95,000-$125,000
Additional Compensation: Total compensation for this role also will include an incentive plan.
