Trane Technologies, the global leader in innovative climate solutions for a sustainable world, is seeking a Federal Controls Project Specialist. In this role, you will support Project Developers responsible for acquisition support and development of Design-Build Turnkey and ESPC projects for Federal customers. You will partner closely with various members of the acquisition team and operations team; including regional controls team, account executives, project developers, energy engineers, project managers, technicians and hired consulting engineers.

This position is remote.

 

Responsibilities:

·       Assist preparing for and delivering meetings, presentations, workshops, and conference calls, both internally and with customers.

·       Assist in performing, leading and/or directing building audits to document existing equipment, controls, and identify energy conservation measures in commercial and industrial facilities.

·       Assist in the preparation of cost estimates for large controls projects.

·       Assist with subcontractor management including communications and site walks.

·       Manage, review, and process project documentation including bids, quotes, estimates, design drawings.

·       Assist the Proposal Team, providing technical writing and input for the development of project proposals.

·       Assist BAS Technicians as required with wiring/programming, electrical terminations, commissioning, graphic development, and startup.

·       Collaborate with the Controls Project Developer, Measurement & Verification team, and Energy Engineers to develop standard control measures and sequences of operation.

 

Qualifications:

·       Engineering/Technical or Business degree or equivalent work experience required.

·       Minimum 5 years in building automation / HVAC controls experience.

·       Ability to handle significant travel, including international, with overnight stays (up to 50%).

·       Consistently meet short- and long-term deadlines and meet and exceed the needs of internal and external customers.

·       Flexibility to work outside normal work hours/weekends, as required.

·       Handles other duties as assigned.

·       Previous HVAC industry knowledge from roles such as Technician, project management, or estimating preferred.

·       Familiarity and understanding of the operation and design of HVAC Systems, Building Automation Systems, and/or Temperature Controls.

·       Understanding of industry standard protocols (BACnet, LON, Modbus) and requirements for integration preferred.

·       Familiarity with the concepts of new construction and renovation/retrofit, performance contracting, and service project management preferred.

·       Experience in controls system integration and retrofit.

·       Must have the ability to work as part of a team and must be able to work in a structured environment and maintain well organized records. 

·       Windows operating system and Microsoft Office product knowledge.

·       Understanding of IT infrastructure and network architecture

 

 Annual Salary Range - $94,950 - $125,550

Disclaimer: This base pay range is based on US national averages. Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, geographic location where the work is performed. Total compensation for this role will include a commission/incentive plan.
