Job Summary

An Oracle Apps DBA with strong experience of 5-8 years will be part of ERP DBA team, providing Development and Production DBA services. The Oracle Production Apps Database Administrator is responsible for the delivery of 24x7x365 uptime.

Responsibilities: 

This position requires strong database Design / Architectural experience and ability to mentor different teams in all phases of database and applications development. Also, should work closely with oracle development, technical and functional teams, and the server team in maintaining a reliable environment around systems hardware and operating systems server software.

·          Good understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.

·          Design, Install, Upgrade, Administer, Patch, Clone and Monitor Oracle eBusiness 11i and R12 and related Oracle 10g/11g/12c databases in RAC and non-RAC environments.

·          Experience with Linux/AIX/Solaris operating system is required.

·          Knowledge required on Exadata/Exalogic machine concepts and architecture.

·          Assist in automation activities where-ever possible from design through development and deployment.

 

Key Competencies:

·       Maintain/Administer Oracle ERP systems.

·       Experience in Applications parallel concurrent processing (PCP), Oracle Application Server, Oracle forms configuration, DMZ setup, shared and multi-node application tiers Experience in Oracle applications workflow configuration, diagnosis, and troubleshooting.

·       Integrate Oracle eBusiness application with other boundary systems like OTM, SOA, WebMethods, OBIEE, GRC, Demantra, Vertex, Laser Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to resolve issues quickly and effectively.

·       Optimizes system/database operations and resource utilization and performs system capacity analysis and planning.

·       Monitors and supports patch control and database configuration across environments.

·       Database performance tuning at system and application levels, for Dev/Test and Production databases.

·       Develop stored procedures and other database objects to implement some business logics in the database.

·       Design and manage database security, roles, and profiles. Design and Implement disaster recovery plans.

·       Knowledge of shell and perl scripting.

·       Develop scripts for database task scheduling, monitoring, and maintenance.

·       Support all non-production databases including installation, upgrade, backup, recovery, database refresh, and multi-language support.

·       Design, Install, configure, and monitor Golden Gate Replication 12c. Configure monitoring, alerts setup and targets discovery using OEM Grid Control 12c/13c. Install, Configure and administer Oracle WebLogic, troubleshoot environment and application issues.

·       Experience with Oracle Transportation Management administration and maintenance. Proactively tune the performance of EBS application and database.

·       Provide support and direction to developers with troubleshooting and performance tuning as needed.

·       Maintain and develop backup/recovery process for Oracle eBusiness Suite installations, for online and offline backups and disaster recovery.

·       Create monitors and alerts for user sessions, concurrent processes, table extents and locks for production and test/development systems. Create and maintain database architecture and standards following Oracle Best practices for physical structures, logical databases, user management.

·       Follow the existing processes for SOX/PCI databases and applications. Ability to manage escalated technical situations & develop action plans.

·       Participate in weekly on-call duties on rotational basis. Follow change management process and participate in related meetings.

·       Share domain and technical expertise, providing technical mentorship and cross-training to other peers and team members.

·       Be part of new implementation projects and will be responsible for preparing the pre-implementation plan for such projects - internal or external as may be required from time to time for implementation by the Implementation Teams.

·       Independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end.

·       Apply data modeling techniques to ensure development and implementation support efforts meet integration and performance expectations.
