Job Summary:
Trane Technologies is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented EHS Intern to join our Environmental, Health, and Safety team. This internship offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in EHS practices, compliance, and initiatives within a dynamic and supportive environment. The EHS Intern will assist in various projects and tasks aimed at promoting a safe and environmentally responsible workplace.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist with Compliance: Support the EHS team in ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal environmental, health, and safety regulations.
• Data Collection and Analysis: Collect, analyze, and report on EHS data, including incident reports, safety inspections, and environmental monitoring.
• Safety Audits and Inspections: Participate in safety audits and inspections, identify potential hazards, and recommend corrective actions.
• Training and Education: Assist in the development and delivery of EHS training programs and materials for employees.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date EHS documentation, including safety data sheets (SDS), permits, and inspection records.
• Incident Investigation: Support the investigation of workplace incidents and near-misses, and assist in the development of preventive measures.
• Sustainability Initiatives: Contribute to sustainability projects and initiatives aimed at reducing the company's environmental footprint.
• Emergency Preparedness: Assist in the development and implementation of emergency response plans and drills.
• Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement projects to enhance EHS processes and programs.
Qualifications:
• Education: Currently pursuing a degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a related field.
• Knowledge: Basic understanding of EHS principles, regulations, and best practices.
• Skills: Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Attributes: Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Experience: Previous internship or coursework related to EHS is a plus but not required.
